"Does All Souls' Day and its octave bring great joy to Purgatory and many releases?"
"On All Souls' Day many souls leave the place of expiation and go to Heaven. Also, by a special grace of God on that day only, all the suffering souls, without exception, have a share in the public prayers of the Church, even those who are in the great Purgatory. Still the relief of each soul is in proportion to its merits. Some receive more, some less, but all feel the benefit of this extraordinary grace. Many of the suffering souls receive this one help only in all the long years they pass here and this by the justice of God. It is not, however, on All Souls' Day that the most go to Heaven. It is on Christmas night."

"Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen."
(Our Lord promised Saint Gertrude to release 1,000 souls from Purgatory each time this prayer is recited).

Thanks, Pablo. I have the prayer posted, but have not included the claim that Jesus promised to release 1000 souls every time it is prayed. Some who publish the prayer say 1000 souls and some say 10,000. I have never found the source of these claims. I'd be interested in verification of what Jesus actually said to St. Gertrude. Some have said that He said "many" souls would be released.
If you or anyone else can provide the source and Jesus' exact words I would appreciate the information.
The Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great
Our Lord appeared to St. Gertrude and gave her this prayer with the promise that each time it was prayed 1,000 souls would be released from Purgatory:
Eternal Father,
I offer You the Most Precious Blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus,
in union with the Masses said throughout the world today,
for the Holy Souls in Purgatory,
for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church,
for those in my own home and within my family.
Amen.

St. Gertrude the Great died in 1334, and her feast day is November 16th. Her special devotions were to the Passion, the Holy Souls and to our Blessed Mother.
You just gotta love those traditional Priests. I got the information and permission on a web site of one.

By the way, thank you for your blog.
I am having cards made up for my web site.
May I include your site as a recommended one?
The front will have a Priest holding the Blessed Sacrament, and the back will have the site addresses.
Mine will be listed, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, and my blog website,http://sanjuandiego.blogspot.com/ I am going to reformat it with Holy rosary audio and video.
Hopefully you will allow me to place your address on my cards (business type).
I do not ask for donations on my site.
I would ask you pray for my web girl and her husband. Since we put up the web site, it has taken off world wide but she and her husband are now suffering greatly.
God be with you, and may He continue to bless this great work of yours.
We shall keep you in our prayers.

I hope this helps.
God be with you.

Pablo, thank you for your comments. I would still like to know the "actual source" from St. Gertrude's writings and the "actual quote from Jesus" to St. Gertrude where Jesus promised the release of souls with the recitation of the prayer.
I did find the following information on more than one website:The St. Gertrude prayer was given approval in 1936 by the Bishop of Liera, Portugal. This prayer is widely publicised with the claim that 1000 souls are released from Purgatory each time that it is said, however the words “1000 souls” were replaced from the original word “many” and the words “those in my own home and within my family” were added after 1936.
The Cardinal's approval doesn't necessarily mean that he approved the alleged promise of 1,000 souls (or 10,000 souls-as some claim).
I pray the prayer often and trust Our Lord to use it as He will, but I am bothered by people putting words in Jesus' mouth--if that is the case concerning the promise for this prayer.
Pablo, I am grateful to you or anyone who recommends any of my blogs. Thank you for your recommendation.
I will remember you and your web girl and husband in my prayers. God bless and protect all of you and may your work for Our Lord bear much good fruit.
Thanks so much for your prayers!
Dear Mrs. One Grateful Heart,
I agree with you; if one soul is let out of Purgatory at the recitation of this prayer, it is cause for rejoicing.
Did you know Saint Gregory the Great once prayed a soul out of Hell?

Yes, Pablo, what a joy and privilege it is to be able to help the souls in Purgatory. I do know about St. Gregory, but thanks for sharing. I might not have known.
